0.2 — The Premise, corrected

0.2.1A craft is a set of tools that outlive their owner's moods. The lens does not care how the morning went; the ledger does not ask permission to balance; the chart keeps its own counsel. What survives the week is whatever was actually made with them.

0.2.2Ritual beats talent over any distance longer than a sprint. Film loaded the same way every time, columns reconciled before the ink dries, rounds made at the same hour — the practices in this folio run on repetition, not inspiration, and they are documented the way a museum documents its plates: by process first, and now, at last, by hand.

0.2.3Correction to the first state. The work is still the biography — but the printer has confessed: this folio names three. Joel Deffner keeps the light. Kyrel Deffner keeps the terms. Andrea Deffner keeps the chart. The first state claimed the people were somewhere else, working. They were here the whole time, setting the type.
